Enrollment · 2026–2027 school year

Welcome home, Bulldog family.

Enrolling a new student takes about 15 minutes online through Skyward. Two paths below, depending on whether your family has used Skyward before. Save your progress any time.

Step 1 — gather these

Have these handy.

You don't need all of them to start — Skyward lets you upload documents during enrollment or scan them later — but having them ready makes the form faster.

Proof of residency

A current utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement showing the family's Monte address.

Proof of age

Birth certificate, passport, visa, baptismal certificate, adoption decree, or hospital/physician's certificate.

Immunization records

Washington State Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS), signed by your provider. Print yours from MyIRMobile if you don't have a copy.

Previous school records

Grades 7–12: withdrawal grades from your last school. Grades 9–12: unofficial transcripts from every prior high school.

No scanner at home? You can also bring physical copies to your child's school once enrollment is complete — see your school's office for hours.

Step 2 — pick your path

Have you used Skyward before?

Skyward Family Access is the portal Monte uses for every family. If a parent or guardian in your household has ever logged in for a current Monte student — or signed in last year for online enrollment — pick the right side. If this is your first time, pick the left.

First time at Monte

I'm new to the district.

Pick this if no one in your household has ever had a Monte Skyward Family Access account. We'll create a temporary account so you can fill out the enrollment form. Once your student is enrolled, the temporary account becomes your permanent Family Access login.

Submit a short form to request a temporary account.
Look for a password email within 30 minutes — check your spam folder.
Sign in and complete the enrollment form.
Upload or bring documents to your school.

Already a Bulldog family

I have a Skyward account.

Pick this if you currently have (or recently had) a Monte student enrolled, or if you started enrollment last year and already have a login. Sign in with your existing Family Access credentials and the New Student Enrollment link will be in the upper-left of your dashboard.

Sign in to Skyward Family Access.
Click New Student Online Enrollment in the top-left navigation.
Add the new student under your existing family.
Upload or bring documents to your school.

Transition to Kindergarten

TK at Beacon Elementary supports children turning 5 between Sep 1 and Aug 31 who'd benefit from an extra year of preschool-style learning.

Moving in from another district during the school year? We can usually have your student in class within two business days.

Live outside our boundary

Families living outside Monte's boundary can request a Choice Transfer through OSPI. Approval depends on space, attendance history, and discipline record.

Special education / early intervention

Children ages 3–5 with developmental concerns, IEPs, or 504 plans have a dedicated path. Start with our Student Services team.

Kindergarten age cutoff

Children must turn 5 years old before September 1 to start kindergarten in the fall. Children who turn 5 between Sept 1 and Aug 31 of the following year may be eligible for Transition to Kindergarten instead.

Returning students

If your student is already enrolled, you don't need to re-enroll. The annual Family Access information update opens in early August — instructions go home by mail and appear in Skyward (opens in a new tab).
