Montesano School District respects the privacy of website visitors and complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and Washington state student data privacy laws.
What we collect
This website collects only the minimum information needed to deliver content. We use privacy-first, cookie-less analytics (Plausible) for aggregate visitor counts. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Student information
Student records are protected under FERPA. Public-facing pages of this site never display identifiable student information without a signed media release on file. Where student names or photos appear (e.g., the “Meet a Bulldog” portrait wall), both a signed media release AND comms approval are required before publication. First names only — never last names.
Skyward
Family access to student records is provided through Skyward Family Access. Skyward's privacy and security practices are governed by their own policies.
Email forms & signups
Email addresses submitted via newsletter signup or contact forms are used only for the purpose stated at submission. We do not share them with third parties for marketing.
