Building maintenance, grounds, custodial, safety compliance, and community use of school facilities. Whether you need to rent the gym or report a tripping hazard, start here.
The crew that keeps the lights on, the heat working, the lawns mowed, the floors clean, and the doors unlocked at 6:15 every morning. Whether you're a parent who needs to rent the gym, a contractor responding to a bid, or just trying to figure out who to call about a tripping hazard on the Beacon playground, this is your starting point.
Year-round, across all three schools and the District Office:
District facilities are open for community organizations, youth groups, non-profits, and recreational activities under Board Policy 9331.
Apply online — the easiest way:
Request a rental at monteschools.org/facilities-grounds/request. The form walks you through everything:
You'll hear from us by email once your request is approved, declined, or needs an adjustment. Approved rentals show up on the public Facility Rentals calendar so everyone — custodial, athletics, the rental party — sees the same schedule.
What you'll need on hand:
Prefer to do it by phone?
Call the Facility Use Coordinator — Cindy Wecker, (360) 249-3942, cwecker@monteschools.org. We can take your request over the phone and enter it for you.
Questions about the process?
Read Board Policy 9331 in the policy manual, or call the District Office. We're happy to walk through the application and the fee schedule before you commit.
If something's broken, leaking, missing, or unsafe — let us know. We'd rather hear about a chipped tile twice than not at all.
State law requires the district to publish a few specific health-and-safety notices.
Monte maintains a Small Works Roster for projects under the state small-works threshold. Open bid solicitations are posted publicly with deadlines. Past bid documents are available by public records request.
When weather threatens the school day, the call gets made by 5:30 AM by the Superintendent in coordination with Transportation and Facilities. The closure or delay is published to FlashAlert (the canonical source), the district website's alert banner, district social media, and KXRO.
If you'd like to volunteer for a grounds-day project, email Chad. PTOs and scout troops have done some of our best community days this way.

No capital projects to share right now. Check back as bond and levy work moves through planning, bidding, and construction — updates also come through the school board.
A look at what the team has been up to — paint, roofs, fields, playgrounds, and the work that doesn’t get a ribbon cutting.
Photos of recent maintenance and grounds work will appear here as we capture them. Drop a JPG into the facilities photos Drive folder and add a row to the gallery sheet to add an entry.
