Same address. A whole new site — built to help you find what you need, fast.

We've rebuilt the Montesano School District website, and it's live now at monteschools.org. You don't need a new bookmark or a new link — the address is the same. Open it on your phone or your computer and you'll see the difference right away.

Please be patient with us as there are still many parts of the site that we need to update content and verify accuracy.  

Here's what's new for you.

Find what you need in a few taps

The home page puts the everyday things up front:

  • This week's breakfast and lunch menus for Beacon Elementary, Simpson Elementary, and Montesano Junior/Senior High School (MJSHS).
  • The district calendar, each school's calendar, and the full sports schedule — and you can subscribe so games and days off drop straight into your own phone calendar.
  • Bus routes and transportation details.
  • Bell schedules, including the Junior High and High School day at MJSHS — early-release, late-start, and assembly days too — with a printable version for the fridge.
  • How to enroll your child, and how to report an absence by phone, online, or email.

There's also a search box at the top. Start typing and it takes you straight to the page, policy, or staff member you're looking for.

Made for your phone — and your connection

Most families open the site on a phone, so we built it for a phone first. Pages load quickly, even on a slower connection, and everything is easy to read and tap — no pinching and zooming.

Built so everyone can use it

Tap the "Aa" button at the top of any page to make the site easier to read. You can:

  • Make the text bigger.
  • Switch to a high-contrast or dark view.
  • Choose an easier-to-read font, including one made for low vision.
  • Have the page read out loud to you.

The site also works with screen readers and with keyboard navigation, so more of our neighbors can use it comfortably.

Snow days and emergencies, front and center

When school is closed or starting late, you'll see it at the top of the home page the moment it opens — written out in plain words, not hidden behind a color. It's the first thing you'll see at 5:30 in the morning, so you're not left guessing.

Closer to your child's school

Each school has its own page — Beacon, Simpson, and MJSHS — with the people, schedules, and news for that building. You can look up a teacher in the staff directory and email them in one click.

And there's more to explore: athletics with scores and highlights, school news, the new Heritage section on Montesano's school history, and Bulldog stories from students and alumni.
