Montesano School District Preschool is an inclusive program consisting of Community, ECEAP and Special Education components. Two sessions of preschool are from 8:20 - 10:50 a.m. and 12:00 - 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and follows the Montesano School District school calendar. To enter into this program a family/student must qualify through one of the following options:
Community students are chosen from a list of potential enrollees, must be 4 years old by the first day of school, and reside within the Montesano School District. Tuition is $76 a month for the 2 day a week program, and due on the 10th day of each school month, unless your family meets the guidelines to be eligible for a sliding scale. Parents must provide transportation for children who do not qualify for ECEAP or Special Education according to federal and state guidelines.
ECEAP, a 4 day a week program, is a state funded program. Students are provided with a variety of learning experiences that encourage social, cognitive, physical and emotional growth. Applicants qualify according to age and income eligibility guidelines.
Special Education is a state and federal funded program, provided by the Montesano School District. To qualify, students must demonstrate significant support needs in one or more of the following developmental areas: communication; cognitive; social skills; adaptive and/or gross and fine motor skills. Students attend class 2 to 4 days a week, determined by their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
State law mandates that each student attending school have proof of immunizations and birth certificate issued by the Department of Health.
