Hi
Academic literacy, also known as content area reading, has to do with ways teachers meld effective reading and writing strategies into core subject instruction in, for example, mathematics, science, social studies, and the English language arts. To become academically literate, a student must learn how to access and use the levels of communication that exist within the various subject areas.
